Watch out for # 5, a 423 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Stockdale Country Club is # 10, the 124 yard par-3.

Stockdale is doing a major renovation from Nov 2010 through Sept 2011. All of the green complexes are being rebuilt from scratch. Greens are being extended out to the original collars to restore the original size. All of the bunkers are being re-shaped to accent the complex and will be filled with a true bunker sand with several new bunkers added. Prior to the renovation they built very fast and difficult temporary bent grass greens. Play is shortened to 5,267 yd but still provides a challenging round.

Greens are very small and have exagerated contours. They are, however, very fast and well maintained. The fairway grass is Bermuda and beginning to deteriorate as they do not overseed for the winter. There are no "Senior" tees and seniors like myself can not properly play some of the dog legs.

Major rebuild of the green complexes so very short. the temp greens are fabulas, role is fast and true. The bermuda fairways are mostly mud since they don't overseed. Rough is poor at best. We'll see after it's finished in October.
